description: Brainy and beautiful Lisa Lu, the Su Piao of Mountain Road fame is a graduate of the University of Hawaii who reads and writes several languages in addition to speaking a half dozen Chinese dialects. Concurrently serving as an interpreter for the Shanghai United Amusement Co. Lisa was a full time reporter on the Honolulu Advertiser. It was Daniel Mann, vacationing in Hawaii at the time, who urged her to try for a Hollywood career. After attending the Pasadena Playhouse, she was chosen to appear in China Doll with Victor Mature, One-Eyed Jacks with Marlon Brando and The Nightingale as Lady Thousand Thrush, one of Shirley Temple's Screen Gem Storybook television series.
