description: Chinatown's first savings and loan office, Canada Trust—Huron & Erle, was opened by its agents Dean and Faye Leung of Pender Realty and Insurance Co. amid explosions of firecrackers and the jingling of tipping glasses between hosts and guests. Hundreds of well-wishers poured through Chungking Chop Suey to express good luck to the young business couple for embarking upon a new enterprise. The front cover photo is a close-up of Dean and Faye who founded Pender Realty and Insurance Company 10 years ago and steered it to its present state of unprecedented prosperity.
