description: The art of oriental dancing is brought to life by these winsome youngsters in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Left, June and Amy Wong, front; Eleanor Tsang, Gwen Wong, rear. The dancers were trained by Prof. Elizabeth Kao of Formosa during the Centennial year. Since then various groups have performed periodically and the older children pass on the traditions to the younger ones. "It is an excellent opportunity for the young people to learn about their heritage," says Mrs. John Chin, who gives much encouragement to the children. The traditional Chinese culture is gradually losing its attraction for the younger generation, related Mrs. Chin who was born in Victoria, B.C. The girls perform authentic Chinese classic and folk dances.
